SWS categorize every application to ensure interns are placed in their exact field of interest.

Social Welfare Service operates through a structured,
agile, and community-centred model — built around our
Scrum-based Internship Program and nine programme streams.

Here is how we work:

STEP 1 — IDENTIFY NEED
We work with communities, ward offices, and partner
institutions to identify where student skills are needed
most — in hospitals, schools, government bodies, NGOs,
farms, and digital spaces.

STEP 2 — RECRUIT & MATCH
We receive applications from students across Nepal,
assess their academic background and interests, and
match each intern with the host organization where
they will create the greatest impact.

STEP 3 — ORIENT & PREPARE
Every intern goes through a structured orientation
covering SWS's mission, the nine programmes, Scrum
methodology, professional conduct, and community
engagement principles.

STEP 4 — DEPLOY IN SPRINTS
Interns work in focused 2-week Scrum sprints — with
clear goals, weekly check-ins, mentor supervision,
and measurable deliverables at every stage.

STEP 5 — REVIEW & EVALUATE
At the mid-point and conclusion of each placement,
supervisors and interns complete formal evaluations.
SWS reviews all outcomes and adjusts the programme
for the next cohort.

STEP 6 — CERTIFY & CONNECT
Interns who successfully complete their placement
receive an official SWS Completion Certificate.
They join the SWS alumni network as mentors for
future cohorts.

Social Welfare Service is governed by a lean,
accountable organizational structure designed for
transparency, efficiency, and community impact.

GOVERNANCE STRUCTURE:

General Assembly
The highest decision-making body of SWS, comprising
all registered members. Meets annually to review
performance, approve plans, and elect leadership.

Executive Committee
Responsible for the strategic direction and day-to-day
operations of SWS. Led by the Secretary General, the
committee oversees all nine programme streams.

President — Bhojraj Adhikari
Leads organizational strategy, institutional
partnerships, programme development, and external
representation of SWS.

Programme Coordinators
Each SWS programme stream is managed by a dedicated
coordinator responsible for intern placement,
community engagement, and outcome reporting.

Field Teams & Interns
The frontline of SWS — trained interns and field
volunteers who deliver programme outcomes directly
in communities across Nepal.

WORKFLOW MODEL:

SWS follows a Scrum-based agile workflow:

Sprint Planning → Execution → Weekly Stand-up →
Sprint Review → Retrospective → Next Sprint

This ensures every programme cycle is focused,
measurable, and continuously improving — with full
transparency to partners, donors, and communities.
